Served four years, 2001-2005. Was scheduled to leave for basic 12Sep01. Ended up waiting until the following week.

On the plus side, I was home for my brother's birthday.

Still in. Startin July of '08. Went to Laughlin as my first base. I completely regret BOP'ing to Shaw. This place is a joke. It's not about the work. It's bout politics constantly. Ughhhhh.

Anyways, how'd you like it?
I love my job, hate the management.

Been in for a little over a year now. Spent 99% of that first year in training. Stationed at Little Rock and like it here so far.

I'm a loadmaster, what do you guys do/did?

I'm PMEL. One of the most envied jobs I've seen. Yet, I despise management.

PMEL, nice. I went to Keesler for tech school, so I knew a few of them. Anyway, I liked the Air Force, just not my job so much. Of course, it didn't really help that I had trouble socializing with most of my squadron-- I was stationed at Nellis, so drinking, gambling, and strip clubs were popular topics. I'm female, so strip clubs didn't interest me and I just got bored with the other two topics.

Personally, I suspect if I'd picked a different job I might be half-way to retiring now instead of just graduation college.

Sorry it wasn't your best bet =p. Not many girls like going to strip clubs, but when they do, they boys get better lap dances.

Anywho, I'm working to find a way away from this base, whether I have to go to Korea, become a TI or go back to my old base, I don't care. I'm sick of the management here. All they care about is their own promotions. Also, part of my career field sits around and does nothing while the 3-4 hardworkers in the lab work our asses off to keep us off overtime. Hence, I want to go back to my small lab while I await my seperation date. [Got another 4-5 years =(]

I know what you mean about not really fitting in. Being Aircrew, pretty much everyone drinks and goes to strip clubs anytime they go off station. I don't drink and I'm married so I don't care for strip clubs either. Bright side is I just don't care what everyone else does and just do my own thing. However I do see a lot of designated driver action in my future.
